Karla Mora JD Candidate
JD Candidate · Immigration Specialist · Chicago, USA · 2024
With a background in International Relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Karla Mora has worked closely with immigration attorneys and paralegals, supporting both immigrant and non-immigrant petitions with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Driven by her desire to better serve individuals and companies navigating ever-changing immigration laws, Karla made the decision to elevate her career by pursuing a Juris Doctor at Chicago-Kent College of Law. This new chapter marks the formal beginning of her journey toward becoming an immigration attorney — one guided by empathy, clarity and a human-centered approach.

What I did on this project
Personal Brand Strategy
I developed a complete personal brand strategy to help Karla communicate her expertise, her professional values and her growth path as a future attorney. This included understanding her story, her motivations and the human component that drives her work in immigration.
Visual
Identity
Created a visual identity that feels refined, trustworthy and aligned with the legal field, while still preserving Karla’s approachable personality. The design combines modern professionalism with warmth, reflecting her dual role as a specialist and a future attorney.
Communication Tone
I crafted a communication tone that balances authority, clarity and empathy — essential qualities for someone working in immigration law. This included guidance for social media, professional networking, academic environments and client-facing communication.
Collateral & Templates
I designed branded templates, stationery and digital materials to support her academic and professional presence, ensuring consistency as she continues to build her reputation. A professional brand guide was developed to protect the integrity of her visual identity and support consistency across future applications, from legal documents to digital profiles.

How did it go?
Karla’s new personal brand has helped her present herself with clarity and confidence during her transition from immigration specialist to JD candidate.
Her visual identity and communication system support a more polished, professional presence, strengthening her credibility among peers, attorneys and future employers.
She now has a unified, strategic personal brand aligned with her goals and with the values she brings to the field of immigration law.
